The RPM TL2 Case Packer Packing Medical Devices Into RSC Cases

The RPM TL2 small footprint case packer is used in many consumer goods applications, including frozen food, pharmaceuticals, beverage, produce, and CBD. In this application the high-performance machine is packing medical devices into RSC cases.

The video demonstrates the TL2 case packer product handling infeed system accepting a single stream of randomly spaced products. The robot performs multiple picks to create the array of products to go into the case. RSC cases are automatically positioned for loading and a flap management system opens the case flaps. The proprietary RPM robot, controlled by a Rockwell controls package, picks up the products and places them into the RSC cases.

Notable feature:

Since the products being packed are very valuable, the end of arm tool inspects the products to be sure all of them are present. There is another secondary inspection exiting the machine to once again confirm all products are in the case.
